Cham Dance traces its origins to the 8th century, attributed to the great tantric master Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche introduced the dance as a means to subdue local deities and evil spirits, incorporating elements of Tibetan Buddhist teachings, mudras (hand gestures), and intricate costumes to convey profound spiritual narratives.
