The Dwarka Expressway isn’t just a road; it’s a shift in gears—not only for vehicles but also for the lives of people in the Delhi-NCR region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway. The expressway is an eight-lane high-speed elevated highway designed to alleviate traffic congestion between Delhi and Gurugram.

The 19-kilometer-long section has been built at a cost of around Rs 4,100 crore. It is India’s first elevated urban expressway and features a single-pillar flyover with eight lanes.

The expressway starts from Shiv-Murti on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway. It passes through Dwarka Sector 21 in Delhi, Gurugram border, and Basai. The stretch provides direct access to the upcoming India International Convention Centre (IICC) in Dwarka Sector 25.

The expressway includes the longest (3.6 kilometers) and widest (eight-lane) urban road tunnel in India. It connects Dwarka Sectors 88, 83, 84, 99, and 113 with Sector-21 and the proposed Global City in Gurugram district.
