The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), colloquially known as Merut's Rapid Train, is an under-construction semi-high speed rail and regional rail corridor connecting the National Capital Region (NCR) cities of Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. Here are 10 points to explain why it is three times faster than the metro:

RRTS employs the European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 or Level 3 of ERTMS, enabling automatic train protection and operation. The metro relies on a conventional signalling system requiring manual intervention.

RRTS offers two classes of service, economy, and business, with one coach per train reserved for the latter. The metro provides a single class of service without fare or facility differentiation.

RRTS showcases high-quality infrastructure, including elevated and underground sections, tunnels, viaducts, bridges, and modern stations with amenities like escalators, lifts, Wi-Fi, CCTV, and security. The metro has a mix of elevated and underground sections, with some stations lacking basic facilities.
