Mudgaleshwar Temple, Parbhani

Mudgaleshwar Temple is located in the village of Parbhani. Situated on river Godavari’s banks, the temple lies in the middle of the river flow and is almost 900 years old. The temple was built in dedication to a lingam – a form of Lord Narasimha Swamy.

The temple’s architecture has the history of the temple, which is illustriously described by the engravings on the entrance stone of the temple.

The monsoons see the entire temple get enveloped because of the swollen river, but this does not deter the ardent worshippers from visiting the temple anyway. They usually swim their way to the entrance of the temple to seek the deity’s blessings.

The temple was managed in the past by two locals – Shri Sahebrao Mudgalkar and Shri Subhashrao Mudgalkar.
