To handle the large number of passengers expected to travel during the Sankranti festival, South Western Railway (SWR) has announced special express trains between Yeshwantpur in Bengaluru and Talaguppa in Siddapura taluk of Shivamogga district. These trains are being introduced to give passengers more travel options and to reduce the rush

on regular trains during the festive season.
First Train Set of Sankranti Festival
The first set of services is the Talaguppa-Yeshwantpur Special Express with train numbers 06585 and 06586. Train No. 06585 will leave Yeshwantpur at 10:45 pm on January 13 and reach Talaguppa at 4:45 am on January 14. The return train, No. 06586, will start from Talaguppa at 10:00 am on January 14 and arrive at Yeshwantpur at 5:15 pm the same day.
This special train will have a total of 22 coaches. It includes one First Class AC coach, two AC Two-Tier coaches, six AC Three-Tier coaches, eight Sleeper Class coaches, three General Second Class coaches, and two SLR/D coaches.
Special Trains
To support passengers returning after the festival, SWR will run another pair of special trains later in the month. The Yeshwantpur-Talaguppa Special Express (Train No. 06587) will depart Yeshwantpur at 10:45 pm on January 23 and reach Talaguppa at 4:45 am on January 24. Its return service, Train No. 06588, will leave Talaguppa at 10:00 am on January 24 and reach Yeshwantpur at 5:15 pm.
This second train will have 20 coaches, including one First Class cum AC Two-Tier coach, two AC Three-Tier coaches, ten Sleeper Class coaches, five General Second Class coaches, and two SLR/D coaches.
Both sets of special trains will stop at Tumakuru, Tiptur, Arsikere, Birur, Tarikere, Bhadravathi, Shivamogga Town, Anandapuram, and Sagara Jambagaru in both directions.
