In a groundbreaking revelation, Saudi Arabia has officially disclosed the discovery of a 'significant gold resource' within its borders. The find spans a 100 km stretch south of the existing Mansourah Massarah gold mine in the Al Khurmah governorate, Makkah region.

The Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) declared the identification of multiple gold deposits, marking a potential expansion in gold mining activities. This discovery is a tangible outcome of Maaden's ambitious exploration initiative launched in 2022, aimed at establishing a robust metal production line. Samples from the Uruq South area, 100 km south of Mansourah Massarah, exhibited high-grade gold deposits of 10.4 grams per ton (g/t) and 20.6 g/t in random drilling locations near Mansourah Massarah.
Future Exploration Plans
In response to these findings, Maaden plans to intensify drilling activities around Mansourah Massarah in 2024. Extending their exploration efforts, Maaden is also focusing on Jabal al-Ghadara and Bir al-Tawila prospects, 25 km north of Mansourah Massarah. Positive drilling results in these areas indicate a potential 125 km strike, opening up exciting prospects for developing a major world-class gold belt in Saudi Arabia.
Expanding Resource and Prolonging Mine's Lifespan
Drilling activities around Mansourah Massarah suggest that the resource is not only open at depth but also along the strike.
