The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has shared an important weather update for northern India. While temperatures are rising in many areas, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, people in Delhi can feel slightly relaxed. According to the IMD, Delhi is not likely to face any heatwave conditions for at least a week.

Temperatures Rise but No Heatwave for Delhi
Recently, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 39.1 degrees Celsius. This is 2.3 degrees higher than the normal level. However, there is no heatwave warning for the city. The weather is expected to stay hot, but not extreme. Humidity levels in Delhi have also increased, ranging from 31 to 73 percent. While this may cause some discomfort, people can be thankful that a heatwave is not expected.
Clear Skies and Warm Weather to Continue
The IMD report says that Delhi's weather will continue to stay warm with clear skies. Wind speeds are expected to remain between 10 and 20 kilometers per hour. On Thursday, the temperature could reach 40 degrees Celsius, while the minimum might be around 25 degrees. This pattern of warm days and clear skies is expected to stay until April 22.
Air Quality Drops, But Hope for Improvement
While the weather is stable, Delhi's air quality has become worse. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has crossed the 200 mark in many parts of the city, making the air unhealthy. But there is a chance for better air soon. The IMD says that increased wind speed may help in clearing the air and improving the quality over the next few days.
Rain Predicted in Southern and Eastern States
The IMD has also shared updates for southern and eastern parts of India. States like Tamil Nadu and Telangana are likely to get rainfall soon. Rain is also expected in West Bengal. This shows how different regions of India are facing different weather changes at the same time.
In short, people in Delhi and other northern states will see a rise in temperatures, but they do not need to worry about a heatwave this week. Air quality might get better as wind speeds increase. On the other hand, some southern states and West Bengal should prepare for rain. These updates from the IMD show the changing and mixed weather patterns across India.
