To handle the heavy rush of passengers during the summer season, Central Railway, along with Konkan Railway, has announced additional weekly special train services on the Panvel-Madgaon route. The move is aimed at providing more travel options and reducing crowding during the peak holiday period.

Weekly Special Trains on Panvel-Madgaon Route
According to the announcement, Train No. 01106 will depart from Madgaon every Sunday at 4:30 pm on May 24 and May 31, 2026. The train will reach Panvel at 4:00 am the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 01105 will leave Panvel every Monday at 5:45 am on May 25 and June 1, arriving at Madgaon Junction at 6:10 pm on the same day.
Important Stoppages & Train Features
The trains will stop at several important stations along the Konkan Railway route. These include Karmali, Thivim, Sawantwadi Road, Kudal, Ratnagiri, and other major stations, helping passengers from different towns travel more conveniently. Each special train will have 23 coaches. The composition includes three AC 3-tier coaches, eleven sleeper class coaches, seven general coaches, and two SLR/D coaches for luggage and guard facilities.
How will these Services Benefit Passengers?
Railway officials said these additional services are being introduced because of the increased travel demand during the summer vacation season. The extra trains are expected to provide relief to passengers travelling between Maharashtra and Goa, especially tourists and holiday travellers.
