The state government of Uttar Pradesh is set to embark on an innovative initiative to promote water tourism, introducing water metros in three significant cities-Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Mathura. Devotees and tourists will soon have the opportunity to traverse the sacred waters of the Saryu in Ayodhya, the revered Ganga in Varanasi, and the flowing Yamuna in Mathura, offering a divine and serene experience. This ambitious project, led by the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), aims to enhance tourism in these historical cities.
