Vande Bharat Sleeper Train to Connect These 4 UP Cities with Mumbai

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is set to revolutionize travel between key cities in Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai, providing a faster and more comfortable journey. This new train service will connect cities like Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, and Jhansi with Mumbai, making long-distance travel more convenient. Although it won't be as fast as the chair car version, it will still offer impressive speed and comfort.

While the Vande Bharat chair car Express can reach speeds of up to 160 km per hour, the sleeper version will have a maximum speed of 130 km per hour. The train will have 16 coaches, including 11 Third AC coaches, four Second AC coaches, and one First AC coach. This will be the first time India has introduced a sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train, starting on the Bareilly-Mumbai route.

Enhanced Comfort and Modern Amenities

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will begin its journey from Bareilly and pass through multiple cities before reaching Mumbai. These stops include Chandosi, Aligarh, Agra, Gwalior, Jhansi, Bina, Bhopal, Itarsi, Khandwa, Jalgaon, and Manmad. The train will accommodate a total of 823 passengers, spread across its 11 AC 3-Tier coaches, four AC 2-Tier coaches, and one AC First Class coach.

To ensure maximum passenger comfort, the train will be equipped with modern features such as sensor-based lighting and energy-efficient overhead lights. Indian Railways is also improving the cushioning on the side berths in the AC 3-Tier coaches to enhance comfort during the journey. Additionally, improved staircases will be installed to make boarding the train easier for passengers.

Significant Reduction in Travel Time

The introduction of this sleeper train will drastically reduce travel times between these cities and Mumbai. For example, the current journey from Agra to Mumbai, which takes over 16 hours, will be shortened to just 10 hours. Similarly, the trip from Bareilly to Mumbai will be reduced from 27 hours to just 11 hours.

Travelers from Aligarh will see their travel time to Mumbai decrease from 25 hours to just nine hours. For those traveling from Jhansi to Mumbai, the journey time will be cut from nearly 20 hours to just eight hours. This new service promises to make travel between Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai much quicker and more convenient.
