Convenient Stops and Accessibility to Sabarimala

Catering to the convenience of the passengers, the Vande Bharat Sabari Special train will make designated stops at strategic locations including Katpadi, Salem, Palakkad, and Aluva. These stops are not only crucial junctions but also ease the journey for a significant number of passengers. The service excellently connects Central Chennai with Kottayam station, which is a mere 90 kilometers from the Sabarimala shrine, making it one of the closest railheads for the pilgrims.

Responding to the Pilgrims' Needs

The Indian Railway's decision to introduce the Vande Bharat Sabari special train comes in the wake of a mismanagement situation that arose due to the sudden surge of pilgrims at Sabarimala a few days ago. The hill shrine is known to experience an extraordinary influx of devotees during the Mandalam-Makaravilakku season, which commenced on November 17 this year. The introduction of this special train is a strategic move to manage the crowd effectively and ensure a peaceful and organized pilgrimage for the devotees.

The Southern Railway's Vande Bharat Sabari Special train is a testament to the commitment of Indian Railways to accommodate the needs of the people, especially during significant festive seasons. By providing a swift and direct connection between Chennai Central and Kottayam, this special service is set to enhance the pilgrimage experience to Sabarimala, ensuring devotees can focus on their spiritual journey with peace of mind. The new train service is indeed a boon to the pilgrims, offering a blend of speed, comfort, and convenience.
