On May 25, many metro cities in India will change their metro timings to help candidates appearing for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination. Cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kolkata will start metro services early in the morning to make sure students reach their exam centers on time. This thoughtful step is taken to reduce stress and offer support to the lakhs of candidates giving one of India's toughest exams.

Bengaluru Metro Services to Begin at 6 AM
In Bengaluru, Namma Metro will begin operations one hour earlier than usual. On May 25, the first trains will leave from Whitefield (Kadugodi), Challaghatta, Madavara, and Silk Institute at 6 AM. Normally, the metro starts later on Sundays, but this change is being made to help UPSC students reach their centers easily and without delay.
This move by the Bengaluru Metro is part of a bigger effort across India to support UPSC exam takers by providing smoother public transportation on the exam day.
Delhi Metro Also Adjusts Timings
Delhi is also taking similar steps to support UPSC candidates. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will start services at 6 AM from terminal stations on a few important lines. These include Line-7 (Pink Line), Line-8 (Magenta Line), and Line-9 (Grey Line). On the Magenta Line, trains will start even earlier at 5:50 AM.
These early services are meant to help students reach their exam centers on time without worrying about travel delays.
Kolkata Metro Offers Extra Trains for Aspirants
Kolkata Metro is also making changes to its usual schedule. On May 25, the Blue Line will start two hours earlier than normal. Trains will leave from Kavi Subhash and Noapara stations at 7 AM, and from Dakshineswar at 7:20 AM.
To meet the higher demand, Kolkata Metro will run 138 trains on the Blue Line, adding eight extra services for that day. Trains will run every 30 minutes between 7 AM and 9 AM to ensure students can travel easily and without rushing.
Evening and late-night train timings will remain unchanged, and other metro lines in Kolkata will run as per their regular Sunday schedule.
A Step to Support India's Future Leaders
This nationwide effort to adjust metro timings shows how public services are stepping up to support education and career growth. By starting services early, cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kolkata are helping lakhs of students feel less worried about reaching their exam centers on time.
Such small but meaningful actions make a big difference, especially on a day that matters so much in the lives of UPSC aspirants.
