Udhampur-Kharagpur Special Train will Run on 27 June to Manage the Heavy Rush of Passengers

To manage the heavy rush of passengers during the summer travel season, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway will operate a one-way fully reserved special train between Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan Railway Station in Udhampur and Kharagpur. The special train will run on June 27, providing additional travel options for passengers travelling from the Jammu region to eastern India.

Udhampur-Kharagpur Special Train Features & Stoppages

According to railway officials, the special train will have 21 coaches. It will leave Udhampur at 9:30 pm on Friday and is scheduled to reach Kharagpur at 12:30 pm on June 28.

During its journey, the train will stop at several important stations. These include Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana Junction, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Sultanpur Junction, Varanasi, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Gaya Junction, Koderma, Gomoh, Adra, Bankura, and Midnapore before reaching Kharagpur.

How will this Special Train Benefit Passengers?

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Jammu Division, Uchit Singhal, said the special train has been introduced to provide confirmed reserved seats for passengers and reduce the pressure on regular trains, which experience heavy demand during the summer holidays.

He added that the train will improve direct rail connectivity between Jammu and several cities in eastern India, making travel more convenient for passengers.
Railway officials also said they are continuously monitoring passenger demand. If required, more special trains may be introduced in the coming weeks to handle the extra rush.

Advisory for Passengers

Passengers have been advised to book their tickets in advance, as the train will operate with fully reserved accommodation only. Travellers should carry valid reserved tickets while boarding the train. The railway administration also informed passengers that bedroll and linen facilities will not be provided on this special train. Passengers are advised to carry their own blankets and sheets if needed for the journey.

For the latest information on train timings, stoppages, ticket booking, and reservation status, passengers can visit the IRCTC website or check the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) mobile application before starting their journey.
