Trains to be Affected: Southern Railway has Announced Temporary Changes to Train Services Due to Remodelling

Southern Railway has announced temporary changes to some train services due to yard remodelling work conducted at Arakkonam Junction. The railway authorities have introduced additional stoppages and route diversions for a few express trains to ensure smooth operations during the maintenance period.

Trains to be Affected

• As part of the revised arrangements, Train No. 17652, the Kacheguda-Chengalpattu Express, will receive an extra halt at Tiruvallur station until June 25. This train departs from Kacheguda at 5:00 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The temporary stop has been added to provide better convenience to passengers during the ongoing work.

• Similarly, Train No. 17653, the Kacheguda-Puducherry Express, will also stop at Tiruvallur station until June 25. This train leaves Kacheguda at 5:00 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The additional halt is being provided as a temporary measure while the yard improvement works continue at Arakkonam.

• Southern Railway has also announced route diversions for the daily Tirupati-Puducherry and Puducherry-Tirupati Express trains until June 26. Train No. 16111, the Tirupati-Puducherry Daily Express, which departs from Tirupati at 4:10 AM, will run through Tiruttani, Arakkonam North Cabin, Melpakkam, and Tirumalpur. Due to this diversion, the train will not stop at Arakkonam station during this period.

• Moreover, Train No. 16112, the Puducherry-Tirupati Daily Express, which leaves Puducherry at 2:40 PM, will operate via Tirumalpur, Melpakkam, Arakkonam North Cabin, and Tiruttani. This train will also skip its regular halt at Arakkonam until June 26.

Railway officials have advised passengers to take note of these temporary changes and plan their journeys accordingly. The yard remodelling project at Arakkonam Junction is aimed at improving railway infrastructure and operational efficiency.
