Train services in the Tiruchirappalli Railway Division will remain affected until July 15 due to the commissioning of a new road at Ponmalai Junction. Southern Railway has announced partial cancellations, short terminations, and changes in the origin of several trains during this period.

Trains to be Disrupted
As part of the changes, Train No. 56111 Villupuram-Tiruchirappalli MEMU Passenger will be short-terminated at Valadi on July 11, 12 and 13. Similarly, Train No. 16833 Mayiladuthurai-Tiruchirappalli Express will terminate at Thiruverumbur on the same dates. Train No. 16812 Salem-Mayiladuthurai MEMU Express will be short-terminated at Tiruchirappalli Junction on July 11, while Train No. 76825 Karaikal-Tiruchirappalli DEMU will terminate at Thiruverumbur on July 13 and 15. In addition, Train No. 12084 Coimbatore-Mayiladuthurai Jan Shatabdi Express will be short-terminated at Tiruchirappalli Junction on July 15.
The railway division has also announced partial cancellations for a few trains. Train No. 16834 Tiruchirappalli-Mayiladuthurai MEMU Express will remain cancelled between Tiruchirappalli Junction and Thanjavur Junction on July 11, 12 and 13. Instead, the train will depart from Thanjavur Junction at 5.25 p.m. Similarly, Train No. 22676 Tiruchirappalli-Chennai Egmore Chozhan Superfast Express will remain partially cancelled between Tiruchirappalli and Thanjavur on July 15.
Advisory for Passengers
Southern Railway has advised passengers to check the latest train schedules before starting their journey and plan their travel accordingly. The temporary changes have been introduced to facilitate infrastructure work at Ponmalai Junction, which is expected to improve railway operations and passenger convenience in the future. Railway officials have expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and have requested that passengers cooperate until the work is completed.
