List of Trains to be Affected

Due to these works, several train services will be affected between June 6 and June 21. The Chennai Central-Ashokapuram Express, Chennai Central-Coimbatore Intercity Express, and Chennai Central-KSR Bengaluru Lalbagh Express will start their journey from Katpadi instead of MGR Chennai Central railway station during this period. As a result, train services between Chennai and Katpadi will remain partially cancelled. Passengers travelling on this route will need to arrange alternate transport.

Similarly, return services from Ashokapuram, Coimbatore, and Bengaluru will terminate at Katpadi instead of Chennai Central.

The Chennai Central-Tirupati Sapthagiri Express will begin its journey from Tiruttani instead of Chennai Central from June 6 to June 21. This means the train service between Chennai and Tiruttani will remain partially cancelled. Return trains from Tirupati will also end at Tiruttani.

Cancellation of Services

Southern Railway also announced the complete cancellation of the Sapthagiri Express on June 19 and 21. The Chennai Central-Tirupati Garudadri Express will also remain cancelled in both directions on June 19.

Rescheduling of Trains

The Chennai Central-Mumbai CSMT Superfast Express departing Chennai on June 19 will start from Tiruttani instead. On June 20 and 21, it will originate from Chengalpattu, skipping stops at Tiruvallur and Arakkonam.

Moreover, the Chennai Egmore-Salem Superfast Express on June 20 will start from Chengalpattu instead of Chennai Egmore. Some trains, including the Mumbai CSMT Superfast Express and West Coast Express, will also operate with revised departure timings during the work period.
