Every February, the vibrant city of Faridabad in Haryana becomes a canvas of colors, echoing with rhythmic beats and an infectious joy. The Surajkund International Craft Mela, a cultural extravaganza, proudly displays India's rich traditions and heritage. Drawing a diverse crowd of over a million visitors, including enthusiastic international tourists, this annual celebration is a testament to the country's folk traditions and cultural richness.

Organized Splendor: Bringing Tradition to Life
The Surajkund Mela is meticulously organized by the Surajkund Mela Authority, with strong support from Haryana Tourism, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Textiles, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of External Affairs. This collaborative effort ensures a seamless blend of traditional crafts, cultural heritage, and a splash of entertainment for everyone.
Evening Delights: Cultural Programs under the Stars
As the sun sets, the main amphitheater transforms into a stage for enchanting cultural programs, adding an extra layer of festivity to the surroundings. It's not just a spectacle; it's a guardian of traditional crafts, preserving skills at risk of fading away in the era of machine-made imitations. A dedicated section is allocated to showcase these heritage crafts, ensuring their continued recognition.
Culinary Exploration: Global Flavors on Display
Wandering through the festival grounds, visitors are greeted by a diverse food court offering traditional cuisines from around the world. This gastronomic journey adds another layer to the overall experience, creating an engaging atmosphere for those seeking a taste of global flavors.

Youthful Joy: Beyond Colors and Crafts
The Mela is not just about crafts and colors; it's a designated place for creating exciting programs, especially for the youth. With a lineup of entertainment, adventurous sports, and joyful rides, it becomes a playground of joy and excitement.
International Recognition: A Global Craft Fiesta
In 2013, the Mela was catapulted onto the international stage, earning the prestigious title of the '28th Surajkund International Craft Mela.' The 2015 edition witnessed participation from over 15 countries across SAARC nations, Europe, and Africa. Anticipations are high for the upcoming edition, aiming to attract participants from over 20 countries.
