Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivas Varma announced on Wednesday that two special train services, Narsapuram to Tiruvannamalai and Narsapuram to Bengaluru, will soon operate as regular trains.

Special Trains to be Regularized
At present, both trains are running as special services; passengers have to pay additional charges compared to normal train fares. Once converted into regular services, passengers are expected to benefit from more stable operations and standard ticket pricing.
According to the minister, the decision will especially help devotees travelling to Arunachalam in Tiruvannamalai, a well-known pilgrimage destination in Tamil Nadu. People travelling from Narsapuram will now have direct regular train connectivity to the temple town, making the journey easier and more convenient.
How will these Trains Benefit Passengers?
The announcement is expected to benefit many passengers who regularly travel between Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka for religious visits, work, education, and personal travel. Regular train services usually provide passengers with better reliability and easier ticket booking compared to special trains, which are often temporary and may have higher fares.
The minister said that the detailed schedule, including train timings and operating days, for both the Narsapuram-Tiruvannamalai and Narsapuram-Bengaluru services will be announced shortly by the railway authorities. The move is likely to improve rail connectivity from Narsapuram and provide more convenient travel options for people travelling to major cities and pilgrimage centres in South India.
