Northern Railway has started operating special trains with four trips in total between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from Wednesday to help passengers during the heavy travel rush. Railway officials said the special services have been introduced for the convenience of passengers and to manage the extra crowd on the route.

Special Trains between Delhi & Katra
• Train number 04071, the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Gati Shakti Special train, will leave New Delhi at 11:15 pm on September 6 and reach Katra at 11:25 am the next day. On the return journey, train number 04072 will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 6:30 pm on September 9 and arrive in New Delhi at 6:50 am the following morning.
• Another special train service, train number 04081, will leave New Delhi at 11:15 pm on September 7 and reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 11:25 am the next day. Its return service, train number 04082, will depart from Katra at 6:30 pm on September 10 and reach New Delhi at 6:50 am the next morning.
Major Stoppages
• This special Gati Shakti train will have economical air-conditioned coaches for passengers. During the journey, it will stop at several important stations, including Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Junction, Ambala Cantonment, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantonment, Pathankot Cantonment, Jammu Tawi, and Udhampur in both directions.
• This second special train will include air-conditioned, sleeper, and general-class coaches, providing more travel options for passengers. Like the first service, it will also stop at Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra Junction, Ambala Cantonment, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantonment, Pathankot Cantonment, Jammu Tawi, and Udhampur stations in both directions.
Railway officials said these special services are expected to help manage the increase in passenger demand on the popular pilgrimage route.
