He was speaking at a programme in Sirsa where he flagged off a special pilgrimage train to Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib in Maharashtra under the "Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana". More than 800 devotees from across Haryana travelled on the special train launched by the chief minister. Saini said the Haryana government wants to ensure that no devotee misses the chance to go on a pilgrimage because of financial problems. He described pilgrimages as an important way to promote social harmony and spread awareness about India's cultural and spiritual heritage among the younger generation.

Importance of Pilgrimage Trains

During the event, the chief minister handed railway tickets to six pilgrims and interacted with passengers and railway officials before the train left. He also joined the Ardas ceremony and wished the devotees a safe and successful journey. Speaking about Sirsa's importance in Sikh history, Saini said the city shares a deep connection with Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He mentioned that Gurudwara Sri Chilla Sahib reminds people of the Guru's visit to the region in 1706 during his journey to the south.

Other Pilgrimage Trains

The chief minister also announced that another special pilgrimage train for the Somnath Temple in Gujarat will start on June 8 under the same scheme. Earlier, the government had arranged special trains and buses for Ayodhya and the Prayagraj Kumbh.

Saini added that the state government provides financial support for various pilgrimages, including Rs 50,000 for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and Rs 6,000 per pilgrim for visits to Hazur Sahib, Hemkund Sahib, Patna Sahib, and Nankana Sahib. Several political, religious, and social leaders attended the event.
