As the nation eagerly anticipates the 75th Republic Day celebrations, a vibrant and women-centric parade at Kartavya Path is set to mark this historic occasion. Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane unveiled the exciting details in a press conference held on January 19, 2024.
Are you ready for a Republic Day like never before? As India prepares to celebrate its 75th Republic Day, the festivities are taking on a unique and inclusive flavor. The Defence Secretary, Shri Giridhar Aramane, announced that the upcoming parade at Kartavya Path on January 26, 2024, will be a tribute to women empowerment with the themes 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Bharat - Loktantra ki Matruka'. In a first-of-its-kind move, women will take center stage, both in marching contingents and artistic performances.

Addressing the press, Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane shared the exciting elements of the parade. A hundred women artists playing Indian musical instruments will lead the way, heralding the beginning with the melodious sounds of Sankh, Naadswaram, Nagada, and more. The parade will also feature an all-women Tri-Service contingent and CAPF contingents with women personnel, showcasing the best representation of women in Republic Day history.
Chief Guest and Special Guests:
Adding to the grandeur, French President Mr Emmanuel Macron will be the Chief Guest for this year's Republic Day Parade. A 95-member marching contingent and a 33-member band contingent from France will join their Indian counterparts. The Defence Secretary also highlighted the inclusion of around 13,000 Special Guests, representing the pride of the nation. These special guests, selected for their outstanding contributions and achievements, will be seated prominently at Kartavya Path, ensuring widespread Jan Bhagidari.
Tableaux Displaying Diversity:
The parade will witness a breathtaking display of cultural diversity with 25 tableaux - 16 States/UTs and nine Ministries/Organisations. Each tableau, carefully selected by an expert committee, aims to showcase India's rich heritage and progress. To address concerns over non-inclusion, a unique three-year roll-over plan has been devised, ensuring equitable participation of all states and UTs over time.

Anant Sutra - The Endless Thread:
Adding a touch of elegance, the Ministry of Culture will present 'Anant Sutra - The Endless Thread,' a textile installation featuring nearly 1,900 sarees and drapes from across the country. This visually stunning tribute will be mounted along Kartavya Path, allowing spectators to scan QR codes for details about weaving and embroidery arts.
Commemorative Coin & Stamp:
In honor of the 75th Republic Day, the Ministry of Defence will release a Commemorative Coin and Commemorative Stamp during the celebrations.
National School Band Competition:
In an effort to evoke patriotism among school children, a National School Band Competition was conducted at the All-India level. The final level event is set to take place at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on January 21 & 22, 2024, featuring 16 Bands from 15 States/UTs.

Vande Bharatam 3.0 and Veer Gatha 3.0:
The third edition of the Vande Bharatam dance competition and Veer Gatha, aimed at spreading awareness among children about the sacrifices of the Armed Forces, will be showcased at Kartavya Path.
Bharat Parv and Parakram Diwas:
Reflecting the 'Jan Bhagidari' theme, 'Bharat Parv' will be organized at the Red Fort, showcasing Republic Day Tableaux, Military Bands, cultural performances, Crafts Bazaar, and Food Courts from January 23-31, 2024. Additionally, Parakram Diwas, celebrating Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, will take place at Red Fort on January 23, 2024.
E-invitation and E-ticketing:
This year, invitations were issued in electronic mode through the dedicated portal www.e-invitation.mod.gov.in. For maximum Jan Bhagidari, the number of seats for the public has been increased. E-tickets for the Republic Day Parade and Beating Retreat Ceremony can be booked from www.aamantran.mod.gov.in.
Ticket Details:
- For Republic Day Parade on 26th January, 2024:
- Rs 20/- = 4,320 tickets
- Rs 100/- = 37,680 tickets
- For Beating Retreat Ceremony on 29th January, 2024:
- Rs 100/- = 1,200 tickets
Park & Ride and Metro Facility:
Free Park & Ride and Metro Facility will be provided to the public for witnessing the Republic Day Parade. The metro will be operational on January 26, 2024, beginning at 0400 hrs.

The Beating Retreat ceremony on January 29, 2024, will mark the grand culmination of the 75th Republic Day celebrations, featuring all-Indian tunes played by bands of the Armed Forces and CAPFs.
