The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has announced that several parts of Taramani will experience a power cut on Tuesday, November 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shutdown is needed for routine maintenance work. Officials also stated that electricity may be restored earlier if the work

is completed ahead of time. On the same day, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) will hold a grievance redressal meeting for consumers in the Porur division at 11 a.m.
List of Areas to be Affected on November 18
The power cut will impact the following locations in Taramani: MGR Salai, Santhiappan Salai, Kothandaraman Street, Perungudi, OMR, Kamarajar Nagar, Kurijni Nagar, Anna Nedun Salai, Nehru Nagar, Kottivakkam, Srinivasa Nagar, Jayendra Colony, Thiruvalluvar Street, Karpaga Vinayagar Street, Telephone Nagar, Church Road, and CBI Colony.
Consumer Meeting
According to reports, the consumer meeting will take place at the office of the Executive Engineer (O&M) on the first floor of the 110 kV SRMC Substation campus on Chettiar Agaram Road, Porur. Residents can use this session to raise issues about electricity supply, billing problems, or other service-related concerns. Officials have encouraged consumers to attend and submit complaints so that they can be addressed quickly.
Meanwhile, areas across Chennai will also experience a scheduled power outage on November 18 due to routine maintenance. Tangedco regularly carries out repair and upgrade work, which often requires temporary power cuts. However, the list of areas affected on November 18 is smaller than usual, reducing inconvenience for most residents. Tangedco has advised the public to plan their activities around the maintenance hours and stay prepared for temporary disruptions in power supply.
