Tamil Nadu Electricity Generating and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) has announced that power supply will be temporarily cut in four districts of the state, Salem, Coimbatore, Udumalaipet, and Dharmapuri on Wednesday, December 10. The outage is necessary because the department will be carrying out its routine maintenance work on electrical systems.

Due to this, many neighbourhoods across these districts will experience electricity disruptions for several hours.
TANGEDCO has informed the public through an official notice, asking residents, industries, and business establishments to plan and make necessary arrangements during the maintenance period. The corporation has also mentioned that the shutdown is important to ensure a safe and reliable power supply in the future.
Affected Districts and Areas
• In Coimbatore, several places will face power interruptions. In the Mathampalayam section, areas like Pethapuram, Tanhirpandal, Kottayam Division, Onnipalayam Road, Arivoli Nagar, Chinnamadambalayam, Madampalayam, Selvapuram, Shantimedu, Bharathi Nagar, Samanayakkanpalayam Road, and Kannarpalayam Road will be affected.
• In the Mill Kovilpalayam region, Senguttupalayam, N.G. Puthur, Perumpathi, Mullupadi, and Vadakkipalayam will experience outages.
• Under the Devanampalayam zone, Vaguthampalayam, Devanampalayam, parts of Chediputhur and Kapalankarai, along with Emmekavundampalayam, Cheripalayam, and Andipalayam, will remain without power for some time.
• In Udumalaipet, areas such as Kothamangalam, Ponnari, Velliampalayam, Aiyampalayam, Kumarapalayam, Varadarajapuram, Murungampatti, Sunkaramadaku, and Kudimangalam are expected to face power cuts on December 10.
• In Salem, the outage will affect Mettur, R.S., Mechery, Malliyakkarai, Odiapatti, Mettupatti, Karuppur, and Aadaiyur.
• In Dharmapuri, the power supply will be disrupted in Mampatti, Anumanthirtham, Kailayapuram, Kelmorappur, Ganapathipatti, Sokkampatti, Keeraipatti, Neppampatti, Theerthamalai, Naripalli, Periyapatti, Kuttadipatti, Kottaipatti, and Maveripatti.
Residents are advised to be prepared for the scheduled outage and plan their activities accordingly.
