The extension work on Patna Metro's Corridor 2 is almost complete, and metro services are likely to start up to Malahi Pakri by the end of April, depending on final safety approvals. The total cost of the Patna Metro project is estimated to be around ₹13,365 crore. Once completed, it

is expected to reduce traffic congestion and improve public transport in the city, making travel easier and more efficient for residents.
Patna Metro Corridor 2
The 2.75-kilometre elevated stretch beyond Bhutnath station has been finished, and trial runs on this route have been successful. However, inspections by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) and the fire department are still required before the regular passenger services. Officials have said that once approvals are received, metro trains will run between Patliputra Bus Terminal and Malahi Pakri. The final clearance is expected soon, possibly within a few days.
Metro Trains to Run from Bhutnath to Malahi Pakri
As the station is being developed as a major interchange where two metro corridors will meet, trains will not stop at Khemnichak station initially, even after the extension opens. Due to ongoing construction work, it is not ready for operations so far. So, trains will run directly from Bhutnath to Malahi Pakri without stopping, which will also help reduce travel time.
Patna Metro's Underground Section
Meanwhile, work on the metro's underground section is progressing quickly. Authorities aim to complete the 6-kilometre tunnel between Moin-ul-Haq Stadium and Patna Junction by April. Although construction is also moving ahead on the Danapur to Patliputra stretch, which is part of the larger metro project designed to improve transportation in Patna.
