IRCTC will shortly begin accepting online reservations for the temple's use of helicopter service as the Kedarnath Dham gates open on April 25. The Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website now offers ticket booking for pilgrims.
The Uttarakhand-based Chardham Yatra is one of the most auspicious Hindu pilgrimages in India. During this pilgrimage, devotees visit the Himalayan shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, & Yamunotri. While the Gangotri Temple Committee will begin opening the temple doors on April 22 on Akshaya Tritiya, the doors of Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham will reopen on April 25 and 27, respectively.
According to sources, a test of the helicopter operations will be finished by March 31, and the online booking system is expected to launch on April 1. Regarding the Helicopter Pilgrimage Operation for 2023, the DGCA has already released a circular. The circular outlines the rules and obligations that helicopter operators must adhere to, as well as some rules that the relevant Shrine Boards or District Administration must follow to maintain safety.

This development follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that IRCTC signed with the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) for a term of five years in order to offer Kedarnath Dham pilgrims the ability to book helicopter tickets.
Moreover, bookings for the 2023 Shri Kedarnath Dham Yatra should be made via the "IRCTC heliyatra website," according to a notification on the state's official website. The Uttarakhand Tourist Development Board must be contacted in order to register anyone interested in booking helicopter services.

This can be completed through Tourist Care Uttarakhand mobile application or via the WhatsApp feature. To begin the registration process, the pilgrim only needs to type "Yatra" into his or her phone at +91 8394833833.
According to a statement released earlier on Sunday by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, around 6.34 lakh devotees have already enrolled for the Char Dham Yatra, and of which 2.41 lakh pilgrims have already registered for Kedarnath Dham.
