In a major step to make travel easier for daily metro users, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has decided to add parking facilities at 12 stations on the Aqua Line. This line connects Noida Sector 51 with Greater Noida. The parking project is part of a bigger plan to add parking at 16 out of the 21 stations on this route. The remaining five stations will not have parking because of fewer passengers.
More Parking for Growing Traffic
The number of people using the Aqua Line is increasing, which means more vehicles are coming to the stations. To help manage this, NMRC has already started building parking areas at several places. Parking work has begun at Sector 51 and Alpha-1 stations. Work at stations 142 and 146 will be finished soon. An agency has also been chosen to start parking services at four more stations.
Tech-friendly Parking System Coming Soon
To make the parking process smooth and easy, NMRC is also working on a mobile app. This Android app will help passengers get real-time train information and pay parking fees through both online and offline methods. New tools like boom barriers will also be installed to improve the system and help commuters save time.
Big Parking Space at Alpha One Station
NMRC has big plans for the Alpha One Metro Station. A multi-storey parking area will be built here, with space for more than 1,000 vehicles. This will not only help metro users but also people visiting the nearby locations. This move shows how NMRC is working hard to improve public transport and make city travel better.
Co-branding to Boost Involvement and Revenue
As part of this plan, NMRC will also offer co-branding chances for 10 stations. This means companies or organisations can link their names with metro stations. This idea is meant to involve the public and also bring extra money for the metro system.
After receiving little response to earlier offers, NMRC will soon issue fresh tenders next week to move the parking project forward. This important step will help reduce parking problems and make the Aqua Line more useful and comfortable for everyone.
With this new plan, the NMRC hopes to make metro travel more convenient while also improving parking options, bringing better services for the people of Noida and Greater Noida.
