On October 26, Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will inaugurate the newly revamped Terminal 1 at Jaipur Airport, marking a big improvement in the airport's capacity and services. This terminal, dedicated to international flights, will begin operations on October 27, bringing a major change in how Jaipur Airport manages passenger traffic. With Terminal 1 now fully operational, Jaipur Airport will have two separate terminals, one for international and one for domestic flights, ensuring a smoother experience for all passengers.

From October 27 midnight, Terminal 1 will be used only for international flights, while Terminal 2 will serve only domestic flights. This reorganization is a key part of Jaipur Airport's plan to handle the rising number of passengers, which has been increasing at an annual rate of 7%. An airport official noted the importance of Terminal 1's reopening, stating, "The new terminal will greatly enhance the airport capacity and improve overall service quality for the passengers."
The renovation of Terminal 1 represents a big moment not just for the airport but also for Rajasthan's tourism sector. Designed to reflect the region's rich heritage, Terminal 1 now has the capacity to handle 1.5 million passengers annually. The departure area has around 10 immigration counters, while the arrival area has 14, ensuring quick and easy processing for travelers. Additionally, around 100 security personnel, including staff from the CISF and airport security, will maintain safety and order.
New international routes, such as flights to Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur, are expected to boost tourism in Rajasthan, offering more travel options for international visitors. The first flight to use Terminal 1 will be an Etihad Airways service from Abu Dhabi, arriving at 2:10 am on October 27, a clear symbol of the terminal's readiness to welcome international passengers.
Located in the Sanganer area, Jaipur Airport is India's 13th busiest in terms of daily scheduled flights. This shows its importance in the nation's aviation network and its strong role in promoting travel and tourism in the region. The completion of Terminal 1's renovation, which began in December 2017, demonstrates a commitment to improving the facilities and services for passengers at Jaipur Airport.
The reopening of Terminal 1 at Jaipur Airport is a major step forward in handling international and domestic flights more effectively. This upgrade not only aims to improve the passenger experience but also supports tourism growth in Rajasthan. With modern facilities and increased capacity, Jaipur Airport is set to become an important hub in India's aviation network, contributing to the region's development and connectivity.
