In the United Arab Emirates, a stunning Hindu temple that combines Indian and Arab designs was just inaugurated (UAE). According to Gulf News, the temple has allowed visitors and worshippers of all faiths access so they can see the 16 deities and other inside decorations. The day of the Dussehra celebration, October 5, marks the official opening of the temple to the general public.
The Hindu committee has chosen to refer to it as the "Dubai Hindu Temple" rather than a Shiva, Krishna, or Durga temple. This temple is the second Hindu temple in the United Arab Emirates after the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi.

On the day of the official opening, the candle ceremony was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, who is the Tolerance and Coexistence Minister, and Sunjay Sudhir, the Indian ambassador to the UAE. There were more than 200 dignitaries present, including the heads of diplomatic missions, prominent members of the Indian community, and leaders from many different religions. Additionally, the temple has a classroom where, among other things, Geeta classes will be held.
Being open to all faiths and able to hold close to a thousand worshippers at once is one of this interesting venue of worship's key characteristics. Each of the 16 prayer halls of the temple is named after a different Hindu deity. The enormous 70000 sq ft temple is situated close to the Guru Nanak Darbar in the Jebel Ali neighborhood of Dubai.
