Good news for people planning to visit the famous Somnath Temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express, which will now make travel between Ahmedabad and Somnath faster and more comfortable. This new train covers the 438 km distance in just seven hours, giving pilgrims and tourists a smooth and less tiring journey. It is a major step forward in making the Somnath pilgrimage easier and more enjoyable.

Comfortable and Modern Travel
The Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express is not just fast-it also offers great comfort. Passengers can choose between AC chair car and executive chair car seating. The train has modern features like automatic doors, a GPS-based passenger information system, and better safety arrangements. These features make the journey more relaxing and enjoyable, setting a new level for train travel in India.
Train Schedule and Route Details
The new express train will run six days a week, except on Thursdays. It will leave from Sabarmati at 5:25 in the morning and reach Veraval at 12:25 in the afternoon. For the return trip, the train will leave Veraval at 2:40 pm and reach Sabarmati by 9:35 pm. This timing is planned to help travelers make the journey within a day without stress.
Along the way, the train will stop at five important stations: Viramgam, Surendranagar, Wankaner, Rajkot, and Junagadh. These stops will help local travelers and also make it easier for people to visit nearby religious and tourist places like the Girnar mountain.
Helping Religious Tourism and Local Growth
This new train service is also part of a bigger plan to improve religious tourism and railway services in Gujarat. At the same event, Prime Minister Modi also launched India's first 9000 horsepower D-90 electric engine. This powerful engine was made in Dahod using local technology under the Make in India program. It shows how India is growing in the field of railways.
With this express train, visiting Somnath and other holy places becomes easier. Pilgrims can now travel in comfort and spend more time at the temple instead of on the road. It also helps tourists enjoy their trip without the stress of long travel hours.
The Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express brings a big change in how people travel to Somnath. With its fast speed, modern design, and helpful schedule, it makes religious travel smoother and simpler. It also supports the growth of tourism and better railway services in Gujarat. This train shows how India is moving ahead while caring for its culture and people.
