Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday flagged off a new train service from Jalore and said that the region is getting direct rail connectivity with Delhi and Jaipur for the first time. Although the train was launched from Jalore, its regular service will run between Bhuj and Delhi through Jalore, Pali, and Ajmer.

How will the New Train Benefit Passengers?
The minister said that people in the Jalore region had been waiting for better railway connectivity for many years. He added that the new train service would help improve travel facilities and make journeys easier and more comfortable for passengers. According to him, improved railway links will also support local trade, tourism, and economic growth in the region.
Railway Development in Rajasthan
Vaishnaw also spoke about railway station redevelopment work taking place across Rajasthan. He said stations in Jalore, Jaipur, Kota, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Abu Road, Pali Marwar, and Jaisalmer are being modernised while keeping local art and culture in mind. These upgraded stations are gradually becoming tourist attractions as well.
Upcoming Railway Projects
He further said that many railway projects are currently under construction in Rajasthan, and these projects will strengthen transport connectivity across the state. To support the granite industry in the region, the Railways may also develop Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals.
20-Coach Vande Bharat Express
Earlier in the day, the minister visited Jodhpur to inaugurate a new 20-coach Vande Bharat Express, replacing the earlier eight-coach service. He said the larger train was introduced because of increasing demand from tourists and regular passengers. A new coaching terminal for Vande Bharat Sleeper and other trains will also be built in Jodhpur to improve rail services in western Rajasthan.
