People living in Saharanpur will soon have a faster and smoother way to travel to Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh. A new road plan has been prepared to reduce travel time and improve connection with nearby states like Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. This new route will not only help local travelers but will also improve overall transport in the region.
A New 10-Kilometer Green Field Road
The main highlight of this plan is a 10-kilometer-long green field road. This road will be 7 meters wide and will connect Pather village in Saharanpur to Saundhebaans at the Haryana border. From there, it will join the Yamunanagar-Paonta Sahib road. This will help people in the Chilkana area and nearby regions travel more easily to Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. The total cost of this road project is estimated at around Rs 45.80 crore.
Bridge Over Yamuna River Near Alhanpur
Another important part of this development is a bridge being built over the Yamuna River near Alhanpur. This bridge is part of a bigger road project that will connect Alhanpur and Nanauli Road to Panchkuan. The Public Works Department (PWD) has completed the proposal and sent it to the government for approval. Once the approval is received and land is acquired, construction work will begin. PWD Executive Engineer RK Singh confirmed that the department is ready to start once the green signal is given.
Better Connection Through New Roads
This new road is part of a larger plan to increase road connections between Saharanpur and nearby areas. Another big road project under this plan is a 12-kilometer road from Sadhauli village in Nakur to Jathlana village in Yamunanagar, Haryana. This road will cost around Rs 118 crore. To make land available quickly, an agreement has been made with local farmers to buy land at four times the circle rate.
Shorter Travel Distance and Time
Right now, the journey from Saharanpur to Paonta Sahib is about 75 kilometers through the Behat-Mirzapur route. The new route, which includes the green field road, will reduce the distance to about 67 kilometers. This means travelers can save about 8 kilometers of journey, which will also reduce travel time.
The new road will not only help Saharanpur but also nearby districts. From the T-point near the new road, Yamunanagar is only 22 kilometers away, and Paonta Sahib is around 38 kilometers. This better connectivity will make travel smoother for everyone in the region.
The new road to Paonta Sahib is expected to bring big changes in travel and transport for Saharanpur residents. By offering a shorter and faster route, and improving links to nearby states, the project will benefit many people. Officials are hopeful that this road will improve daily travel and boost development in the region.
