Commuters in Bengaluru have a reason to celebrate: the Namma Metro Yellow Line is adding a fifth train from November 1, aimed at reducing wait times and easing traffic in South Bengaluru. Currently, the Yellow Line (which runs between RV Road Station and Bommasandra Station) operates with four trains, and

passengers have to wait about 19 minutes between services.
Addition of the 5th Train to Reduce Frequency
With the addition of the new fifth train, the interval will shrink to about 15 minutes, allowing faster and more convenient travel for thousands of daily commuters. Officials from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) state that the new train has successfully passed all safety and technical checks, so it's all set to begin operations starting November 1.
The Yellow Line itself was inaugurated by Narendra Modi on August 10, 2025. At that time, three trains ran with roughly 25-minute gaps; in September, a fourth was added, bringing the gap down to 19 minutes. Now, with the fifth train in place, commuters get better frequency and quicker service, which is important in the busy southern parts of Bengaluru.
The timing of this launch coincides with the state's formation day celebrations (Kannada Rajyotsava), making it a timely benefit for residents. Moreover, this move strengthens BMRCL's commitment to improving public transport in the city and helping reduce road congestion.
