The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced a new schedule for the Namo Bharat trains, extending their operating hours by two extra hours in the evening. Starting today, the trains will run until 10 PM. Officials confirmed this change on Saturday, aiming to make travel more convenient for passengers.

Extending the train timings is part of NCRTC's plan to attract more riders and meet the needs of a larger number of passengers. The upcoming opening of the Meerut (South) station is also expected to boost ridership further.
Currently, the busiest stations on this route are Ghaziabad and Modinagar (North), handling 25 percent and 20 percent of the daily riders, respectively. On May 8, the Namo Bharat trains on the 34 km route in Ghaziabad saw around one million passengers.
Currently, the Namo Bharat trains operate from 6 AM to 8 PM from Monday to Saturday, and from 8 AM to 8 PM on Sundays. This schedule is for the 34 km stretch of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) section in Ghaziabad. The route covers eight stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modinagar (South), and Modinagar (North).
By extending the operating hours, NCRTC hopes to make the Namo Bharat trains a more attractive option for commuters, encouraging more people to use this fast and efficient mode of transportation. The convenience of longer hours will likely lead to an increase in the number of passengers, further justifying the investment in this state-of-the-art transit system.
A spokesperson from NCRTC explained, "The new operating hours for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor will be 6 AM to 10 PM from Monday to Saturday, and 8 AM to 10 PM on Sundays. This change aims to make travel more convenient, especially for those who finish work late. It's also expected to benefit women passengers."
This new initiative by the NCRTC is expected to significantly improve travel for daily commuters, making it easier for people who finish work late in the evening to get home. The extended hours are particularly beneficial for women passengers, who often face challenges traveling late at night.
The ongoing 82 km RRTS project aims to eventually link Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut with high-speed Namo Bharat trains designed to travel at 180 km/h. With the first station in Meerut (South) nearly ready, an additional eight kilometers will soon be added to the operational corridor.
As the project progresses, the NCRTC continues to focus on delivering a world-class transportation system that not only meets the current demands but also anticipates future growth. The extended hours are a step towards achieving this goal, ensuring that the Namo Bharat trains remain a vital part of the region's infrastructure.
With the new schedule in place, passengers can look forward to more flexible travel options, reducing the stress of commuting and making it easier to plan their journeys. The Namo Bharat trains are set to become an even more integral part of the daily lives of those living and working in Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut.
The NCRTC's efforts to expand the train services and improve connectivity reflect their commitment to enhancing public transportation and providing better services to the residents of the National Capital Region. The Namo Bharat trains are part of a larger vision to create a high-speed, reliable, and efficient transportation network that meets the growing needs of the population.
The extension of the Namo Bharat train operating hours is a positive development for commuters in the National Capital Region. It highlights NCRTC's dedication to improving public transportation and making travel more convenient and safer for everyone. With these changes, the Namo Bharat trains are set to become an even more popular and essential mode of transportation for the people of Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut.
