Namma Metro has received its fourth new train for the Green Line, which is expected to help improve services on the route. Chinese manufacturer CRRC has supplied the six-coach train in partnership with Bengal-based Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd (TRSL). According to a senior official of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), all six coaches of the new train were unloaded at the Peenya depot on August 20.

After the train arrived at the depot, officials completed the installation and fitting of important components. These included gangways, couplers and Current Collector Devices (CCDs), which are essential for the train's operation.
Once the initial work was completed, the trainset was moved to the testing track. It is currently stationed at the Inspection Bay Line (IBL), where it will undergo further tests and checks before being cleared for regular operations.

The arrival of the fourth train is part of BMRCL's efforts to increase the number of trains available on the Green Line. Earlier, the metro corporation had received three new trains from the same manufacturers. These trains are being prepared and tested before being introduced into passenger service. Earlier this month, the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (Southern Circle) inspected the new trainsets, as inspection is one of the final steps required before the trains can be allowed to carry passengers. The trains will provide regular service only after completing all mandatory tests and receiving the necessary safety approvals.
The addition of new trains is expected to strengthen the Green Line's operations and improve availability of services for passengers. Once the new trainsets receive clearance, commuters on the Green Line could benefit from more frequent and reliable metro services. BMRCL is continuing the testing and inspection process to ensure that the new train meets all required safety and operational standards before it begins passenger operations.
