Confirmed Start Date and Train Availability

Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya confirmed the operational date on January 2, noting that the first train would arrive in Bengaluru in early January. Surya has actively monitored the project, addressing hurdles that delayed its completion, primarily the unavailability of trains.

In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Surya highlighted, "The delay was mainly due to train shortages. Over the last few months, I worked closely with Titagarh Rail Systems to speed up production. Challenges like visa issues for engineers were resolved, and a dedicated production line was set up to manufacture trains specifically for Bengaluru Metro."

Timely Train Deliveries

Titagarh Rail Systems has committed to delivering the first train by January 6, with subsequent trains arriving as follows:

- Second train: Late January or early February

- Third train: April

- One train monthly thereafter, increasing to two trains per month by September.

Surya also urged the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) to inspect the manufacturing facility on January 6 to ensure the timely dispatch of the first train.
