Mumbai is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall on Friday and over the weekend, according to the India Meteorological Department. While heavy rain is not expected across the city, a few isolated areas may experience intense showers accompanied by thunderstorms. However, no major weather warning has been issued for Mumbai at present, bringing some relief after several days of continuous heavy rain.

Mumbai Weather Update
The IMD has forecast a generally cloudy sky with frequent spells of light to moderate rain on 10 July. Although the rainfall intensity is likely to decline compared to earlier this week, residents have been advised to remain alert as isolated heavy showers may still occur, especially during the evening or night.
Weather Updates for Maharashtra's Other Districts
Neighbouring districts, including Thane, Palghar and Raigad, are also expected to receive similar weather conditions. The monsoon remains active across Maharashtra, but the rainfall is expected to be less intense than the heavy downpours that disrupted normal life earlier this week.
Mumbai Rains Caused Disruption
The recent spell of heavy rain had caused severe waterlogging, traffic jams, and disruptions to train and road transport across Mumbai and nearby areas. However, weather conditions have improved, allowing local trains and BEST bus services to operate normally in most parts of the city. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely and have asked people to stay updated with the latest weather advisories.
Advisory for Residents
The IMD has advised residents to carry umbrellas or rain gear while stepping out, as sudden showers are still possible. People living in low-lying areas should remain cautious in case of temporary waterlogging after heavy spells. Commuters are also advised to check weather updates before travelling, especially over the weekend.
