Starting March 23, the Vande Bharat Express running between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar Capital will now include a stop at Anand station. This change brings slight adjustments to the train's schedule, mainly for the return journey from Gandhinagar to Mumbai. Western Railways announced this update to improve connectivity and provide better travel options for passengers.

For train number 20901, which departs from Mumbai Central in the morning, the schedule will mostly remain unchanged except for the new halt at Anand:
- The train will reach Anand station at 10:38 am.
- It will stop for two minutes before continuing to Gandhinagar Capital.
- Timings at all other stations on this route will remain the same.

Timings for Gandhinagar to Mumbai Route

For train number 20902, which returns from Gandhinagar Capital to Mumbai Central in the afternoon, slight adjustments have been made:
- The train will leave Ahmedabad five minutes earlier at 2:45 pm instead of 2:50 pm.
- It will arrive at Anand at 3:30 pm and depart at 3:32 pm.
- The train will reach Mumbai Central at 8:30 pm, five minutes later than before.
- Timings for other stations on this route remain unchanged.

Why Was Anand Added as a Stop?

The decision to add Anand as a stop was taken after Anand MP Mitesh Patel discussed the matter with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The approval came in **February 2025, aiming to make travel easier for people commuting from Anand to major cities. However, the official announcement took some time, delaying ticket bookings for this stop.
