Mumbai Local Trains to Get Digital Display Boards Like Metros; Check Details

Western Railway (WR) has introduced dynamic digital display boards on the side panels of suburban train coaches to make travel easier and more convenient for passengers. This initiative aims to enhance the overall travel experience for commuters by providing important train information in a clear and accessible format.

Mumbai Local Trains Get Digital Display

With these new digital boards, passengers no longer need to check the information counter for train details. The boards will display essential information such as the train's destination, the number of cars (either 12 or 15), and whether the train is slow or fast. Vineet Abhishek, Western Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer, stated that the goal is to provide immediate and clear information to passengers, making their journey hassle-free and convenient.

The new digital display boards will make it easier for passengers to find the right train and stay informed about their journey. Mumbai commuters will benefit from eight digital displays with a panoramic view, evenly installed on both sides of the rake. The information will be available in Hindi, Marathi, and English, ensuring that all passengers can read and understand the details. The display boards will show the information in all three languages every three seconds.

So far, the feedback from commuters has been positive. Many passengers appreciate the convenience and clarity provided by the digital display boards. Western Railway plans to install more display boards on additional rakes in the future to further enhance the travel experience for all passengers.

In other news, Western Railway has announced that maintenance work is currently underway on the UP and down fast lines between Vasai Road and Bhayandar stations. This maintenance work includes signaling, racks, and overhead equipment. The block period for this work will start at 11:30 pm on June 15 and continue until 4:45 am on June 16. During this time, all fast-line trains will run on the slow line between Virar and Bhayandar/Borivali route.

This maintenance work is essential to ensure the safety and efficiency of the railway network. Passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly and expect some delays during the maintenance period. The Western Railway is committed to improving the overall travel experience for passengers and ensuring the safety and reliability of its services.

The introduction of dynamic digital display boards is a significant step towards modernizing the Mumbai Suburban Network and making it more user-friendly. Passengers can now enjoy a more informed and convenient travel experience, thanks to this innovative initiative by Western Railway.
