Mumbai-Ahmedabad Trains have been Partially Cancelled Due to Heavy Rainfall & Waterlogging

Heavy rainfall and waterlogging on Mumbai's Western Railway network disrupted train services on Monday, affecting travel on the busy Ahmedabad-Mumbai rail route. The bad weather caused cancellations, short terminations, diversions, and delays, impacting at least 22 trains.

Mumbai Rains Caused Disruption

According to the Ahmedabad division of Western Railway, water accumulated on the tracks between Safale, Kelve Road, Vasai Road, and Nalasopara stations in the Mumbai Central Division, which affected the smooth movement of trains. The situation became more difficult after landslides were reported on the Central Railway network, forcing several long-distance trains to take alternative routes.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad Trains Cancelled

A total of 14 train services, or seven pairs of trains, were partially cancelled or short-terminated due to the disruption. These included the Karnavati Express, Suryanagari Express, Double Decker Express, Ajmer-Dadar Express, Ahmedabad-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, Ahmedabad-Mumbai Tejas Express and Bhuj-Dadar Superfast Express. Instead of reaching Mumbai, these trains started or ended their journeys at stations such as Valsad, Vapi, Surat, Navsari, and Bilimora.

Apart from this, seven trains were delayed and rescheduled during their journey. These included the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Double Decker Express, Ahmedabad-Mumbai Tejas Express, Gujarat Superfast Express, Bhuj-Dadar Superfast Express, Porbandar-Dadar Saurashtra Express, Bikaner-Yesvantpur Express and Hisar-Secunderabad Superfast Express.
Meanwhile, eight long-distance trains were diverted through alternate routes via Manmad, Jalgaon, Paldhi, and Daund because of landslides on the Central Railway network. Some of the affected trains were the Ahmedabad-Chennai Express, Pune-Bhuj Express, Pune-Ahmedabad Duronto Express, Chennai-Ahmedabad Express, and Rajkot-Secunderabad Express.
Advisory for Passengers
Railway authorities are closely monitoring the situation and working to restore normal train operations. Passengers have been advised to check the latest train status before starting their journey, as services may continue to face delays until weather conditions improve.
