The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is making significant strides, particularly in Gujarat. The rail level slabs for five stations—Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Anand, and Ahmedabad—are now complete. This corridor spans 508 kilometres and includes 12 stations, with eight located in Gujarat and four in Maharashtra.

Progress of Stations in Gujarat
Construction on the bullet train stations along the alignment is advancing swiftly. Foundation work for all eight stations in Gujarat is finished, and the superstructure construction is well underway. These stations will feature modern amenities like ticketing areas, business-class lounges, nurseries, restrooms, smoking rooms, information booths, retail centres, and public announcement systems.

Additionally, some stations will be developed as transport hubs. This integration aims to provide seamless connectivity with various modes of transportation such as autos, buses, and taxis. The goal is to ensure better and faster access to and from the stations.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor will feature twelve stations along its route. In Gujarat, these include Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, and Vapi. Maharashtra will host Boisar, Virar, Thane, and Mumbai.

The project aims to offer passengers a range of modern facilities at each station. These include ticketing areas and waiting lounges designed for comfort. Additionally, there will be business-class lounges for premium travellers.
The construction progress highlights the project's rapid development pace. For instance, the concourse level slabs at Vapi and Bilimora are both completed at a length of 425 metres each. Similarly, Surat's concourse level slab measures 450 metres and is also finished.
The Bharuch station has seen significant progress as well. Out of its planned 425-metre rail level slab length, 350 metres have been completed so far. Meanwhile, Vadodara's first-floor slab casting work is currently in progress.
A key aspect of this project is its focus on integrating multiple transportation modes at select stations. This integration aims to enhance connectivity for passengers using autos or buses to reach the bullet train stations.
The Sabarmati station has made notable advancements too. All nine slabs on its first floor are complete while three out of nine concourse slabs are finished.
This ambitious project promises to revolutionise travel between Mumbai and Ahmedabad by significantly reducing travel time while offering state-of-the-art facilities for passengers.
