What did the 'doomsday' calendar say about all this? Well, Nothing. Any oracle? Or an octopus? Sorry to disappoint but NO. The climate and the people are all in the cycle of life, synced together. Living and dying together. This doom and gloom is an inevitable part of nature which strikes a mark in a person's life by the same sync void.
My uncle often says, there is no reason for why some things happen. You shouldn't question it. Scientifically speaking, experts pull out a floor length reasons as of to what exactly happened and why. In the mystery of life, things just happen. And they come with a cost.
Something that life teaches you along the way to deal with. When it comes to the planet, what can I say? She is angry. But she is definitely not on steroids. Here I have made a list of the most extreme climate mishaps in 2022 and how much did they cost to its particular countries. Take a look-
February 14-19, Strom Eunice took off in Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland and the UK. Killing 16 people along her wake. Eunice was an intense extra tropical cyclone that thundered in the 2021 & 2022 wind storm season. Experts say, Climate Change triggered the cause. Coasting damages over 4.3 million USD.

Eastern Australia was taken over by floods in the early 23 February to 31 March. Displacing over 60,000 people and killing 27 of them. The 2022 fluids is one of Australia's worst recorded floods. Accompanied by severe weather and heavy rains, the floods racked damages to 7.5 billion USD.

China witness floods during June to September. The Yangtze-Huai River floods is said to be caused by rainfall and intern flooding the river.
While climate change is causing heavier downpours, the rapid growth of cities makes it worse by flooding and covering up surfaces that could otherwise absorb rain water. 239 people were displace due to these floods, costing the government 12.3 Billion USD.
Europe was hit by draught during June to September. A senior European Commission researcher said it seems to be Europe's worst year in 500 years. Caused by extreme heat waves, Europe's 2022 summer was not that great.
A combination of record-breaking temperatures and low rainfall that caused rivers to dry, wildfires to rage and crop failures to answer already high food prices. The state of drought brought damages over 20 million USD.
Hurricane Fiona storms the regions of Caribbean and Canada on 14 -28 September. Over 25 people dead and 13,000 people were displaced. A destructive Category 4 Atlantic hurricane that was caused by tropical depression 7 has led to this outrageous affect. Damages are said to be 5.88 Billion USD.

From September 23 to October 2, Hurricane Ian showed its mass destructive power over US and Cuba. It is the deadliest hurricane to strike the state of Florida since 1935.

Apart from these the Malaysian floods due to tropical depression ; the back to back storms in South Africa and Tierra del Fuego wildfire in Chile are the tragic climate events occurred in 2022.
Mr Shouro Dasgupta, Researcher at RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment and a Lecturer at Università Ca' Foscari Venezia, said, "One of the major impacts of climate change is on food security. Climate change is already undermining global food security, exacerbating the effects of the COVID-19, geopolitical, energy, and cost-of-living crises.
The increasing frequency of heat waves, due to climate change, resulted in an estimated 98 million more people suffering from moderate or severe food insecurity in 2020 compared to the 1981-2010 average, according to the recent Lancet Countdown 2022 report.
Given the increased frequency and intensity of extreme events such as heat waves and droughts in 2022, the impacts on food security are likely to be even higher."
