The inauguration is timely, coinciding with the onset of the nine-day Navratras, commencing on October 15th, dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga.
The refurbished Parvati Bhawan, equipped with 1,500 digital lockers, a waiting lounge, and pilgrim-friendly washrooms and toilets, has been inaugurated by President Murmu. This consolidation of services under one roof aims to streamline pilgrims' progress directly to the shrine after depositing their belongings.
The upgraded Parvati Bhawan can now accommodate 10,000 to 15,000 pilgrims daily at no cost. This development minimizes the crisscross movement of pilgrims searching for locker facilities and bathing spaces in the Bhawan area.
Notably, pilgrims visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine will soon be able to enjoy a new "Navdurga Path" at the entrance to the upcoming Skywalk at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan, starting from the upcoming auspicious Navratras.
