People living in Lucknow and other parts of Uttar Pradesh have been facing unusual weather. While some areas are getting light rain and strong winds, others are still suffering from extreme heat. But there is some good news. The Meteorological Department has said that from Friday, the weather will start to change. Many districts, including Lucknow, can expect light to moderate rain, which will bring relief from the hot and dry weather.

Rain and Winds Bring Relief to Lucknow
In Lucknow, the weather has already started to cool down. On Wednesday, the temperature dropped by 2.1 degrees, reaching 38.1 degrees Celsius. It is expected to fall even more to around 37 degrees on Thursday. People in the city have experienced a mix of rain and winds over the past few days, making the air feel fresher and more pleasant.
This change is a big relief for the residents who have been dealing with the strong sun and heat. The cloudy sky and drizzle have made the environment more comfortable.
Rain Predicted Across Eastern and Western Districts
According to senior scientist Atul Kumar Singh from the Meteorological Department, more than 35 districts in the eastern-Terai region will see drizzle, strong winds, and thunder in the coming days. The department has also warned of thunderstorms and winds that may reach up to 50 kmph in many areas. This warning is important so people can stay safe and prepare for sudden weather changes.
The upcoming rain and winds are expected to continue until May 27, giving residents several days of cooler and more comfortable weather.
Heatwave in Bundelkhand but Relief is Coming
While Lucknow is cooling down, places like Banda and Jhansi in the Bundelkhand region are still very hot. These areas have recorded temperatures over 45 degrees Celsius for two days in a row. The hot westerly winds are making the situation worse. However, the weather department says these areas will also get rain soon. The temperatures in these districts are expected to drop by up to four degrees over the next four days.
Lightning and Thunderstorm Alerts for Many Districts
Along with the rain, the weather department has also issued a lightning alert for many places. This includes districts like Varanasi, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Bijnor, and Bareilly. People in these areas should be careful and stay indoors during thunderstorms.
As the state moves into cooler and wetter weather, the people of Lucknow and other cities are welcoming the change. This weather shift is bringing much-needed relief and comfort after weeks of intense heat.
