The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has expanded its fleet of Ambari Utsav sleeper buses, adding 20 more vehicles, making a total of 40. These new buses, known for their comfort and advanced features, were launched on Tuesday by Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, and other officials. Designed for long-distance travel, these buses are set to improve connectivity within Karnataka and neighboring states.
Advanced Features
KSRTC's Managing Director, Anbu Kumar, highlighted the unique features of the Ambari Utsav buses, which have gained popularity since their introduction in 2023. Each bus is 15 meters long and can carry 40 passengers in a 2x1 berth arrangement, ensuring maximum comfort during overnight journeys.
The buses come with luxurious interiors, USB and C-type charging ports, and advanced safety features such as a Fire Detection and Suppression System to handle emergencies. Their Scandinavian-style exteriors and aerodynamic design enhance both aesthetics and fuel efficiency. Additionally, powerful halogen headlights and daytime running lights ensure safety during night travel.
Routes
The new buses will operate on important routes, linking major cities like Bengaluru, Kundapura, and Mangaluru. They will also provide direct service to Kempegowda International Airport, making travel more convenient for passengers. Beyond Karnataka, these buses will connect to cities such as Nellore, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Kozhikode, boosting interstate travel options.
