Good news for students in Kochi, Kerala as they can save more on their daily commute from Kochi metro. The launch of a new travel pass recently by Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) named "Vidya-45" is a commendable step towards the bright future of students in the city.
These cards are made especially for students with the intention of giving them access to economical and convenient transport options. It is excellent that Kochi Metro is taking this action to support education and lessen the stress of student commutes.
The lower ticket not only makes travelling cheaper, but it also guarantees that students may use their limited funds to pay for other necessary costs associated with their education.
Vidya-45 cost?
The Vidya-45 card could be purchased for INR 495, thus a single trip would only cost slightly less than INR 10. With this card, students are permitted 50 metro rides in 45 days in Kochi. From any Kochi metro station, they can take a ride to get to their desired location.
Additionally, there are student passes that are valid for a day or even up to a month. 'VIDYA 1' could be purchased for Rs. 50, while 'VIDYA 30' costs Rs. 900. These cards have no limits on how many times the students use this. (It is advisable to learn more and complete details while purchasing the card from the official).
How to get a Vidya-45 travel pass?
This travel pass can be obtained easily. All students have to do in order to purchase the Vidya-45 is provide a Photocopy copy of their student identification card and the good news is that they can purchase the travel pass from any Kochi metro station.
The metro card is also available to those taking competitive test preparation classes at one of the city's many coaching facilities. If they submit an affidavit from officials of authorized centres along with a photo of the student, coaching centre students can also get these passes.
According to Metro MD Loknath Behera, who spoke at the opening event, this new Vidya-45 travel pass primarily targets students under the age of 25. But above 25 years of age, students can also get the benefit by showing the required documents from their coaching centres as mentioned above.
