Kerala Under Yellow Alert

According to the IMD, Kerala is likely to experience widespread rainfall over the next few days. Most parts of the state are expected to receive light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Some areas may also witness strong winds with speeds of up to 40-50 kmph, especially during heavy showers.

The IMD said the active monsoon conditions are expected to continue over Kerala for the next few days, bringing frequent spells of rain across the state. While widespread heavy rainfall is not expected, isolated areas may receive intense showers, leading to temporary disruptions to normal life. The weather department has asked people to stay updated with the latest forecasts and follow safety advisories issued by local authorities.

Weather Advisory for Residents

The weather department has advised people living in hilly regions and areas prone to landslides to remain alert. Continuous rainfall could increase the risk of landslides, flash floods, and waterlogging in low-lying areas. Fishermen have also been advised to follow official weather updates before venturing into the sea due to rough weather conditions.

Authorities have asked district administrations to stay prepared for any emergency. Residents have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain, especially through hilly roads and flood-prone areas. People are also advised to be cautious near rivers, streams, and water bodies, where water levels may rise quickly after intense rainfall.
