Kashmir, renowned as the 'paradise on earth,' is gearing up to welcome some of the world's most beautiful women for the 71st edition of the Miss World pageant in December 2023. The exciting news was shared by Julia Eric Morely, the CEO of Miss World, during a press conference held in Srinagar on Monday.
A Land of Beauty and Warmth
Morely, accompanied by the reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska, and other beauty queens, expressed her happiness and gratitude for the chance to host this prestigious event in Kashmir. She couldn't help but admire the region's incredible beauty and the warm and kind-hearted nature of its people. She said, "Truthfully, I am so happy. It is emotional for us to see such beauty. You have such beauty, and everyone is being very kind and helpful. I thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Miss World Comes to Kashmir
Morely also shared some key details about the event. The Miss World crew will arrive in Kashmir in November, and the main event is scheduled for December 8. She eagerly anticipates their visit and said, "We look forward to seeing you in November. The show is on December 8. Thank you, Kashmir. You are wonderful people. God bless you, and we are looking forward to coming back."

The press conference saw the presence of Miss World India, Sini Shetty, and Miss World Caribbean, Emmy Pena. Miss World Karolina Bielawska, who hails from Poland, expressed her gratitude for the chance to visit Kashmir and witness its unparalleled beauty. She shared her awe and said, "I am grateful for the opportunity to see this beautiful place (Kashmir) in India. I didn't expect it at all, but it just stuns me with its beauty. We've been talking about Kashmir, and I knew there would be beautiful scenery. But what we've seen today was really blowing our minds."

Bielawska is looking forward to welcoming contestants from 140 countries, as well as her friends and family, to India. She can't wait to show them the incredible places that India has to offer, including Kashmir, Delhi, and Mumbai. She said, "Everyone welcomed us so nicely, so warmly that I cannot wait to welcome 140 nations and all my friends and family to bring them here to India and to show places like Kashmir, like Delhi, Mumbai. This is my third time in India, I am so happy not the last one. Every time we come here we discover something new and India is very diverse. However, in every state, there is something common, which is the wonderful hospitality."

The Miss World pageant is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious beauty contests. It made its debut in 1951 in London and has since graced various countries with its presence. She was crowned by the previous Miss World, Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica, on 17 March 2022 at Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Karolina Bielawska is the second Polish woman to hold the Miss World title, following in the footsteps of Aneta Kręglicka, who won in 1989. Apart from being a beauty queen, she is also a multi-talented individual with skills in modeling, acting, and singing, and she fluently speaks four languages: Polish, English, Spanish, and French.
