IPL Match in Bengaluru: Metro Extends Services and Offers Discounted Return Tickets

To ensure hassle-free travel for cricket enthusiasts attending the TATA IPL-T20 matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced an extension of train services on specific match days.

The decision comes as a relief for fans as the final train service from four terminating stations will now run until 11:30 pm on April 15, May 4, May 12, and May 18. Currently, the last train departs from these stations at 11 pm.

To further facilitate transportation, return journey paper tickets priced at Rs 50 will be available for purchase at all Metro stations starting from 2 pm on match days. These tickets are valid for travel from Cubbon Park and MG Road Metro stations to any other Metro station until the extended service closure.

The BMRCL has also made provisions for commuters to use QR code tickets, Smart Cards, and NCMC Cards for the extended service. Public advisory encourages purchasing QR tickets in advance via WhatsApp, the Namma Metro App, or PayTM to avoid the last-minute rush.
