According to the figures, there were 106% more foreign tourists during the same time period last year than this year. According to information from the Ministry of Tourism, Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) are up as well by 46% over last year and 12% from pre-Covid levels.

The increase in inbound travel can be attached to a number of things, including the development of the international economy, the relaxation of travel restrictions, and the widespread success of vaccination efforts. This increase in tourism not only reflects well on the Indian economy but also shows how well-liked India is as a travel destination.

The huge contribution of tourists from Bangladesh is one of the phenomenon's most remarkable features as the biggest group of travellers to India during this time comes from Bangladesh, with a share of 23.5%. The strong Indian diaspora in the nation and the historical linkages between India and the UK both support the regular stream of tourists. India is a popular travel destination for British tourists because of its captivating bustling cities, beautiful scenery, and the chance to discover their ancestry.

Over 46.51% of visitors from these nations came to India for leisure travel and recreational activities, with the Indian diaspora accounting for about 25% of these visitors. Medical tourism accounted for 6.5% of all travel, while business and MICE accounted for over 11%.
