The Indian Railways has decided to extend the operation of the Lucknow-Chhapra Vande Bharat Express until April 26. Initially introduced to accommodate travelers during the Holi season, this semi-high-speed train has remained in high demand. The train, which was originally set to run until March 17, will now continue operating six days a week, except Tuesdays. This extension will allow the train to complete 27 additional journeys in both directions, improving connectivity and offering passengers a fast and comfortable travel option.

A Faster and More Efficient Travel Option
Operated by the Northern Railway, the Lucknow-Chhapra Vande Bharat Express is the fastest train on this route. It covers the 489 km journey in just 7 hours and 15 minutes. In comparison, other trains like the Dibrugarh Rajdhani and Bihar Sampark Kranti take longer, making this train the most efficient choice for travelers. By reducing travel time, the Vande Bharat Express provides a convenient alternative for passengers commuting between these two cities.
Comfortable and Modern Facilities
The train has been designed to ensure a comfortable journey for all passengers. It consists of an 8-car rake with two seating options:
- AC Chair Car - providing a comfortable and affordable seating arrangement.
- Executive Chair Car - offering a more luxurious travel experience with extra space and added amenities.
These options cater to different passenger preferences, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable trip.
Strategic Stops for Easy Access
To accommodate passengers from different regions, the Lucknow-Chhapra Vande Bharat Express makes stops at six important stations:
1. Sultanpur Junction
2. Varanasi Junction
3. Ghazipur City
4. Ballia
5. Suraimanpur
These stops allow easy access for travelers from nearby areas, making the train a popular choice among daily commuters and long-distance travelers alike.
Affordable Ticket Prices
Passengers can book tickets for the train at reasonable fares:
- AC Chair Car: Rs 1780
- Executive Chair Car: Rs 3125
Bookings have already started, allowing passengers to plan their journeys in advance. The train's affordability and efficiency make it a great option for those traveling between Lucknow and Chhapra.
The extension of this service highlights Indian Railways' commitment to providing better transport facilities. By responding to passenger demand and ensuring faster travel, the railway aims to make commuting easier and more efficient.
With its extended schedule, high-speed connectivity, and comfortable seating, the Lucknow-Chhapra Vande Bharat Express continues to be a preferred travel option. Passengers can now enjoy its services until April 26, making their journeys faster and more convenient.
